Was that planned?

What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.

People are asking us all the time if we have planned to get children this quickly after each other. We find it highly personal and quite offensive from a lot of strangers. Especially when it’s followed by a “I couldn’t do that”.

– Well, no one asked you. And how do you actually think people feel when they hadn’t planned and are going through struggles? What a discouraging question and sentence.

We so often ask insensitive questions or comment on things, not knowing the story behind. Let’s try to be more sensitive and caring for each than trying to pull down the decisions someone has thought of as good.

And btw: yes, they were planned so closely. At least, as much as you can plan it. Because we wanted to have them close, but who actually knows, if God allows us to get pregnant. and we are grateful, because we believe, every child is a blessing. And even though it’s stressful sometimes, you grow. And you love. And you learn more. I have never been on such a beautiful journey. And I am so grateful. Every child is a blessing. I truly believe that.
