Reading, rolling, writing…

What activities do you lose yourself in?

I find it possible and, oftentimes even easy to lose myself in whatever task is at my hand…

To slip into that flow space, where the outside world sounds like moving water, and distractions seem to lose their influence… That’s the sweet spot.

In general though, reading Bible / an article / something interesting is enough to guide me into that flow space.

Writing takes me there, with perhaps a bit more effort and precise timing. Gaining writing momentum is slow. but once it’s going, then it’s going like a Boeing!

Rolling is my easiest entry into a flow space though. Martial arts, most specifically Jiu Jitsu, have been present for my entire life. Once the sparring starts, my focus sharpens astoundingly!

Training to be completely present in the moment, especially in the middle of a combat situation, is one of the toughest trainings to undertake.

After 28 years rolling, I can say that Jiu Jitsu, training and rolling are my easiest access points to a flow space.

Where / what / how / where do you get lost, doing what you do?

I’d love to hear; comment below!
