Plan and Prepare šŸš§

Planning & Preparing are the building blocks of progress and success!

Benjamin Franklin is quoted as saying: ā€œBy failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail!ā€

I’m with him ā¬†ļøā¬†ļøā¬†ļø on this one!

A well structured and ordered plan, is an effective plan. Like a pyramid has a very strong / wide / stable base, building upon its strength with more strength.

See the steps? Imagine running up and down there a few times! šŸ˜Ž

But let’s look closer!!

Do you see the big steps? The huge thick layers? We would have a hard time jogging up and down there… We would have to go free climbing on those! šŸ§—

See the staircases with the smaller steps? That’s what goal action steps need to be like. Huge tasks, that are broken down into smaller, manageable steps.

Your journey starts at the bottom of the staircase, aiming upwards. The simplest way to make progress, is to take the first of the small steps, and then just keep doing exactly that same step, (left and right) all the way until you reach…

What does it all lead to?

Well there lies the completion of your goal(s)!

The top!

The peak!

The summit!

The end of the journey…!

But is it the end?

No way!

What goes up…

…must come down!

Climbing to the to and achieving your goal, is just a part of your journey. You’ve still got a job going back down the stairs in front of you!

It’s once we start actively pursuing the structuring, advancing and completing of our goals, that we realise that the goals themselves are actually more or less irrelevant and a bit meaningless.

The important part is the climbing.

And most importantly, HOW you climb.

The state of your heart, mind and thoughts as you climb.

Are you climbing Grateful steps?

Or are you on grudging steps?

You choose.

The beauty of goals, lies in being able to make progress towards them!

And that’s not even taking into account WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU AT THE TOP!

It honestly doesn’t matter how your staircase looks. It doesn’t matter if your action steps are pretty or not. It’s irrelevant how small the steps are. A strong foundation and stable structure are the important factor for stairs / action steps.

A well defined and clear plan of action, combined with focused preparation, around a single goal, will eventually lead to effective and lasting changes in your life. The only way that you can lose, is if you quit; and even then you still have to walk back down as many stairs as you’ve already climbed.

So just be unbeatable, by refusing to quit

Quitting goes off the table.

Make a commitment to yourself.

One step at a time.

Let’s climb! šŸ™‚
